The Author's Literary Program on Russian Television: the Peculiarities of its Formation

This article analyzes the specifics of the formation of a special genre on Russian television – author's programs about literature. To do this, the main definitions of the genre are initially outlined, the difficulties in studying it are fixed, and then the history of its formation is traced through the prism of the characteristic features that gradually formed in similar programs on Soviet and post-Soviet television. The key principle of organizing literary TV shows and the key to their relevance among viewers is the presence of a bright presenter who not only has a non–standard – author's - point of view on the analyzed works, but is himself an established and recognized creative personality deeply immersed in the literary process and professionally versed in it.
