Byron and English pantomime

The article deals with the history of two traditions - literary (in the person of George Gordon Byron) and dramatic, presented by the English pantomime. There is analyzed the pantomime “Conrad and Medora: Or, Harlequin Corsair and the Little Fairy at the Bottom of the Sea” (1856) by William Brough, that was inspired by the poem “the Corsair” (1814). The author defines the nature of the literary and dramatic dialogue with Byron, that is developed at the pages of the play.
