Ballet as an aesthetic phenomenon: the philosophy of dance

Бесплатный доступ

The article is devoted to the philosophical study of ballet art as an aesthetic phenomenon. The thesis is substantiated that in dance the translation of music as an extra-spatial artistic form into the sphere of spatial and bodily existence is carried out. At the same time, the dance involves the translation of physicality and space into the form of musical time. In dance, the music is “telesced”, and the body acts both as an artistic image and as a tool for creating an artistic image. Musical existence is treated in the article as a transgressive phenomenon. The mythical and symbolic content of the ballet as an aesthetic phenomenon is analyzed. Based on the analysis of the conceptual and theoretical developments of G.V.F. Hegel, F. Nietzsche, D.S. Merezhkovsky, A.F. Losev, the author offers an interpretation of ballet as the highest form of spiritualization of corporality in art. The analysis of the philosophical and symbolic content of the image of the dancing god in the teachings of F. Nietzsche is carried out.
