Бесплатный доступ

The article examines one of the most important models of score-rating systems - the American one. This system of controlling the quality of education has long been functioning in the USA, is well-established and works rather efficiently. The system was developed in the conditions of individually-oriented organization of education process, has two stages and includes scores for separate disciplines and the general average score for all disciplines studies. One university can use various scoring systems depending on the subject, wishes of students, type and length of the course. The calculation of average score for all subjects demonstrates the objective assessment of a student’s performance. The system is quite transparent: since his or her first class a student knows how many credits he or she can earn for this or that class. The second component of discipline score is the assessment of a student’s knowledge at an exam.
