Non-equivalent vocabulary as a reflection of the era of Genghis Khan in the Russian-language historical novel "Temujin" written by A. S. Gatapov

This article analyzes the non-equivalent Buryat language, indicating the names of clothes in the Russian-language historical novel. The selection of words was made from the novel called "Temujin" which ahd been written by A. S. Gatapov. The novel depicts events that took place in the 12th-13th centuries. The selected group of words was divided into subgroups: headwear names, outerwear names, and footwear names. The lexical meanings of the selected words were reconciled using the dictionaries of K. M. Cheremisova and L. E. Eliasova. The meanings of some words were obtained from the dictionaries of Ozhegov and Krysin. Some of these words were included in the scientific articles. This allowed to interpret such words better from a linguistical aspect. The author concluded that the use of the non-equivalent vocabulary allowed him to create a novel that has a greater degree of truthfulness and authenticity and helped him depict real events of the Genghis Khan era.
