Values as a resource for the psychological safety of social network users

The article analyzes the issue of psychological safety of social network users. The axiological sphere of an individual is considered as an important resource to ensure it. Subjective assessments of security and features of the manifestation of values among users with varying degrees of a sense of security have been studied. The research involved 65 students. It was found that young people are aware of threats when using social networks, but differently assess the level of their psychological safety determined by their attitude towards informational component of virtual communication. According to the research participants, data related to hobbies, leisure activities, areas of self-development and learning can be open. Information about family and personal relationships should remain closed. The axiological characteristics of active users of social networks also differ depending on the subjective assessment of the level of psychological safety. The desire for the values of common good, universalism, and following traditions are expressed by users who assess their security as sufficient. The users who rate the security as insufficient express a desire to realize the values of hedonism and control.
