The article deals with the substantiation of the essence of the values-based attitude of the future teachers towards health. The structure of the studied quality by the means of the functions (cognitive, axiological and activity) and components (cognitive, emotional and reflexive) are suggested. There are described the leading means of the development of the values-based attitude towards health of the future teachers in the conditions of the pedagogical university.
