Study of value orientations of modern youth is undoubtedly relevant, because in many ways spiritual and material culture of our society depends on world view and values of the youth. The spiritual culture, however, as much as the material one, is determined by ethno-cultural and religious values, the analysis of which is undertaken in this article. The paper, based on the secondary analysis of a number of sociological studies conducted in different regions of the Russian Federation, shows that religious and ethno-cultural values and value orientations occupy one of the most important places in the life of young people. The greater place in the attitudes of individual's preferences is targeted on ethnicity and ethno-national values, the more the depth of its spiritual and moral beliefs. Religion forms the ethnic identity, and its role has been significantly increased. Ethnic communities also form the religious values, although their role has weakened recently. The article also states the need of various social institutions to strongly contribute to the formation of religious values in young people.
