Relevance. The city is directly related to sociology, being, in fact, the basis of everything social, the field of functioning of all spheres of life, where citizens realize their abilities and needs. In the modern world, the lifestyle of urban residents determines the standards of human existence and that is why the city is interesting as an object of study. The purpose of the work is to analyze the theoretical developments of the Chicago School of Urbanism; obtaining new knowledge in the field of studying the social space of the urban environment.
