Cytological diagnosis and surgical treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of glans penis in dogs

This paper describes a clinical case of the formation of squamous cell carcinoma on the glans penis in an American Cocker Spaniel dog at the age of 16 years. For the diagnosis, a cytological diagnostic method- fine needle aspiration biopsy, as well as general methods for studying the animal’s condition (biochemical blood analysis, general blood analysis, abdominal ultrasonography) have been used. According to the results of the study, surgical treatment has been performed for amputation of the tumor, what has allowed to prolong and ensure the quality of patient`s life.
