The diagnostic capabilities of the topogram methodology as an instrument for the research of students’ psychological representation of educational environment of the university

The paper provides empirical data to analyze the diagnostic capabilities of several methodological tools aimed at studying the characteristics of the students’ psychological representation of the educational environment of the university. To test the diagnostic capabilities of the graphical Topogram methodology, authors analyzed the data obtained as a result of the methodology “Subjective Assessment of the Realizability of Basic Values” (SARBV), the Topogram itself and the associative experiment. Using statistical methods, the diagnostic capabilities of Topogram are justified as a tool that allows the researcher to obtain information about the features of the representation of the educational environment, in particular through the representation of various elements of the educational environment, and the relationship of this information with the degree of feasibility of basic values at the university. It was found that, firstly, the indicators obtained using the Topogram methodology are statistically significantly associated with the indicators of the SARBV methodology; secondly, the diagnostic capabilities of Topogram allow us to record data as solidary with indicators of other methods, as well as providing additional information.
