The Dynamics of Changing Students’ Attitudes towards the Basic Components of National Identity in the Context of Modernizing the System of Patriotic Education

The article is devoted to the study of the national identity of modern student youth through the prism of the spiritual and religious concept of patriotism of the great Russian philosopher I.A. Ilyin. The changes in the system of patriotic education in Russia, which began actively in 2022, are presented. The results of student surveys on the basic components of national identity (language, song, prayer, fairy tale, the lives of saints and heroes, poetry, history, army, territory, economy) conducted in 2021 and 2025 are presented. The survey shows the varying degrees of importance of the main components of national identity for students. The problem areas in the formation of the national identity of students and the directions of improving the system of patriotic education are identified.
