The changing interaction of personal activity with the world around us during the COVID-19 pandemic raises the question of assessing the adaptive capacity of the individual, especially for those who are oriented to assess what is happening in relation to their professional choices and attitudes, whose task is to maintain psychological resilience and help others to find and maintain it. Psychological well-being and tolerance for uncertainty were assessed at the initial stage of the pandemic, and one year after its occurrence, as a set of personality traits that met this challenge. Psychological well-being data were collected and analysed for respondents with different levels of tolerance for uncertainty during the pandemic. The analysis made it possible to identify a number of features of self-regulation of individuals with varying degrees of tolerance to uncertainty. A diminished ability to perceive events in one's own life as controllable has been found to cause limitations in autonomy, directedness towards people, the ability to communicate trustingly and goal-setting, to a large extent this peculiarity is associated with a high tolerance to uncertainty.
