The study demonstrates that the subjective sense of discrimination is quite a relevant phenomenon in adolescence and retirement age. The research reveals the relationship between the subjective sense of discrimination and the state of anxiety, tension, protective or spontaneous aggression, decreased activity and reduced mood experience. The author proves that the subjective sense of discrimination in children and adolescents implies such aspects of the relationship as threats to and remarks on them. In older people, this feeling is related to the remarks on them, sharp words, disgust and an overall trend in avoiding interaction with them. The survey identified the areas of discrimination and feelings accompanying ageism. Thus, the presence of children and adolescents leads to the anxiety on vacation, in sports, when addressing the professional challenges, during interpersonal communication with other people, and the presence of retired people in politics and professional activity is linked to irritability. It is concluded that ageism allows one to achieve one’s goals and meet one’s needs while the capacity and need for self-development is insufficiently developed in the actors of discriminatory behavior.
