Designing effective teams in the organization

Contemporary organizations do business in turbulent environment, so the ability to quickly respond to changes in the environment becomes a key factor for their survival. Trends in environment: globalization, rapid technological changes, demographic changes, tough competence have caused changes in organizations. Organizations are forced to leave the traditional way of doing business and introduce the teams. The teams are mostly represents as a group of people with complementary skills which are committed to a common purpose and whose members are responsible for the results they achieve. All the members of the team consider the goals of the team as their own goals. The significance of the teamwork for organization is in the fact that teams can make organization more flexible, innovative, competitive and more decentralized. The basic characteristics of teams, which have to be designed in order to achieve high performances, are being considered in this work. First of all the teams are defined. Then, the team typology and their characteristics will be shortly presented. The special attention in this paper is paid to creating the teams. The aim of this paper is to, having determined the basic characteristics of teams, and to point out the important moments in creating the effective teams.
