Cadet Spirituality in Russia: Traditions and Modernity

The article explores the spiritual development of cadets in Russia. The authors consider its historical roots and modern forms of implementation. Special attention is paid to the role of religious, moral and patriotic aspects of the educational process in cadet educational institutions. The article presents an analysis of the influence of Orthodox traditions, military ethics and cultural heritage on the formation of the worldview of future defenders of the Fatherland. The main mechanisms of spiritual and moral development of cadets are described due to their participation in worship services, patriotic events, and the study of the basics of religion. The traditions and opportunities for effective interaction between the teaching staff of cadet corps and the Russian Orthodox Church have been considered. The research is based on the analysis of historical sources, normative documents and pedagogical practices. Finally, conclusions are drawn about the importance of spiritual development as the basis for the education of a cadet, who is preparing to serve his Fatherland «faithfully and justly» and increase the glory of the Russian army.
