Coping strategies, ways of protecting the welfare in times of pandemic

The pandemic declared in January 2020 forced people to respond to this traumatic event through the implementation of coping strategies to achieve psychological welfare. The coping strategies are the efforts that a subject made to face stressful external demands. Welfare i complex term that could be defined from the hedonic perspective (focused on happiness, seeking accomplishment and avoiding pain) and from the eudaimonic perspective (focused on full development, meaning and self-realization). This work purposes to detail the constructs: Welfare and coping strategies, and to know the importance of implementing coping strategies to maintain and protect welfare during the pandemic. The conclusions highlight the importance of the intimate relationship between coping strategies and welfare, propose the development of the mental health policies which intervene and inform about coping strategies that increase welfare.
