Fact, commentary and fiction in a biographic text (based on the novelized biography of L.N. Tolstoy)

The article deals with the main distinctive features of a novelized biography, opposed to the documentary biography text representing the sequence of the events in the life of the man. The novelized biography includes the sequence but completes it by the author’s commentaries and some elements of fiction. The example of L.N. Tolstoy novelized biography shows a dialectic unity of the main genre features of such texts - its verity and verisimilitude.
