The phenomenon of integration in the theory and practice of education

The integration processes taking place in different areas of people's life, as well as the openness of education in relation to these areas lead to the spread of the integration phenomenon in modern education. Despite the fact that integration and differentiation have been the driving forces of education development throughout all the years of its existence, it is relevant to study the emergence of the integration specific features at the third decade of the 21st century. The reasons for the emergence of innovative features of integration are globalization of human problems, the ideas of sustainable development of the world, internationalization and digital transformation. The article aims to identify the relevant features of integration in the third decade of the 21st century. The article characterizes the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the study, provides a comparative description of integration with relevant categories. The prerequisites, factors and problems that stimulate integration and determine their features are formulated. The main aspects of integration associated with the development of education in the modern period are revealed; the integration processes in education, typical for this period, are characterized. The results of the article can be used as methodological guidelines to conduct research in the field of integration in education.
