Indian Culture Festival as a Form of Intercultural Interaction

The desire to understand Indian history and culture did not arise in Russia yesterday, it flared up and died down with a certain periodicity, but never died out. The beginning of the 21st century was marked by the restoration of the tradition of studying the cultural heritage of India, which had been interrupted for some time, since in the context of globalization the task of establishing a dialogue between different cultures of mankind has acquired particular relevance. The invariable model of intercultural interaction is based on the diverse historical cultural values and traditions based on national experience, as well as the ways of their transmission, one of which is the festival. The festival as a form of intercultural interaction, within the framework of which the cultural heritage of different peoples is exchanged, stimulates intellectual and creative activity, constructive processes and the desire to build friendly relations. In the article, using the example of Indian festivals held in Russia, such important functions as communicative, educational, upbringing, training, leisure, socio-economic are shown.
