Philip Arthur Larkin and Russian poets of the second half of the twentieth century: search for parallels

The article attempts to identify the features of Philip Larkin's poetics by comparing it with the poems of Russian poet Aleksandre Kushner. The comparative analysis is based on common biographical features and the presence of regularly occurring common motives and images, in particular, the motive of the inevitability of death and the of window. The research comparative makes us conclude that fundamental difference of the two poems is rooted in their worldviews and is manifested in the individual characteristics of their poetics.
