Focal brachytherapy is a modern radiotherapy method used to treat localized prostate cancer. It involves inserting radioactive sources directly into or near the tumor to deliver high doses of radiation with minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissue. Advantages of focal brachytherapy include high precision, reduced side effects, and preservation of organ function. Clinical studies show that focal brachytherapy can be as effective as more aggressive treatments, particularly in the early stages of the disease. It is a promising, innovative approach to cancer treatment that requires further research to expand its use and improve clinical outcomes.
