Formation of reading literacy of primary school children in literary reading lessons

The article discusses the relevance of using the developed workbook in the process of developing reading literacy in primary school students. It is emphasized that the use of these methods contributes to the development of such skills in children as: finding information, orientation in the content of the text; interpreting information; understanding information and assessing its reliability, content and structure of the text; the ability to use information in solving educational and practical problems. The results of practical application confirm their high efficiency: the formation of four groups of reading literacy skills in younger students of the experimental group through working with texts of different genres based on the life experience of children. In conclusion, the authors make a conclusion about the need to introduce the developed reader’s notebook into the educational process of primary school for the successful formation of reading literacy in primary school students.
