The survey covered the 6th-9th grades at school, the control group included 104 respondents, the experimental group consisted of 105 respondents. To estimate the level of the juvenile civic position the authors employed the criteria and indicators resulted from the usage of acquired knowledge. The assessment was made according to 100-points scale: 0-30 points corresponds to the initial-reproductive level; 40-70 - to the functional-performing level; over 70 - to the social-prolonged level. The social-prolonged level of the civic position was considered in combination with two other levels underlying it. The research enables the authors to reveal the factors with a negative impact on juvenile upbringing and formation of the basis for their civic position: juvenile overrated self-assessment, attempts to substitute upbringing by orders, formal requirements, prohibitions and pressure of “generally accepted opinion”. A socially-pedagogical environment of the stanitsa with highly likely reconstruction of Cossacks’ traditions creates the most favourable conditions for juveniles to acquire first skills in manifestation of civic consciousness and patriotism in the form of civic position. Cossacks’ traditions make it possible for the stanitsa juveniles to show their civic position at the initial-reproductive, functional-performing and social-prolonged levels. The article comprises the criteria used for assessing the qualitative indices of levels and dynamics of acquiring the fundamentals of civic position taught through stanitsa’s traditions the learners of the Cossack classes show.
