Development of students’ information competency in the course of web-programming

The article deals with the need to develop professional competencies as a result of changes caused by the computerization of society. We have presented various interpretations of the concept “competence”, the definition of “information competence”. Informational, technical and technological, creative, communicative, reflective components of information competence are considered in the article. We have studied the key techniques for development of competency using the example of training bachelors in the field of "Information Systems and Technologies". The influence of creative component on development of students' competence in the course of web-programming is shown. The article also analyzes the role of communicativeness and reflexive component in development of students’ information competency. It has been concluded that information competency of future specialists contributes to the development of professionally important qualities.
