Formation of historical consciousness of youth as a priority task of modern education

This article is devoted to the study of the process of forming the historical consciousness of youth in the context of modern educational practices. The author considers historical consciousness as a system-forming component of a person's spiritual and moral development, which determines an individual's ability to comprehend historical experience and form value orientations. The paper analyzes the current challenges facing the education system in the information society, including the fragmentation of historical knowledge, the impact of digital technologies on the perception of the past and the formation of critical thinking. The study identifies key mechanisms for the development of historical consciousness through the integration of traditional and innovative pedagogical approaches, including the use of interactive teaching methods, project activities and interdisciplinary connections. Special attention is paid to the role of the educational environment in creating conditions for a meaningful dialogue with the historical past and the formation of the civic identity of the younger generation.
