The problem of environmental awareness of students majoring in «Teacher Education» in two profiles, one of which is «Handicrafts», is relevant since the Federal State Educational Standards (FSES) contains a section «Environmental Awareness and Project Activity», which smoothly establishes links between an educational and a living space that has value and personal meaning for the student. In our opinion, the subject matter of «Handicrafts» is one of the most suitable for the development of students’ environmental awareness, which can be reflected in almost every topic studied at lectures and seminars, whether it is healthy nutrition, disposal of solid household waste, arrangement of conditions for the sustainable development of our civilization.
