The paper discusses the features of the anxiety manifestation in primary schoolchildren and methods for its correction. The views of Russian and foreign scholars on the emergence and development of school anxiety are set out. The authors present an empirical study of existence and features of anxiety manifestation in first-graders of one of the educational organizations in Penza. It has been argued that the level of schoolchildren anxiety defines the success of their training activity. The research reveals significant differences between the school students with low and high anxiety concerning such training activity components as goal setting, educational actions, control, evaluation. The authors present program on measuring and psychological correction of schoolchildren anxiety and improving the level of development of training activity and prove its efficiency.
