The article discusses the possibility of listening to music as one of the most active and creative ways of forming musical-aesthetic culture of the future directors theatrical performances and festivals in the educational process of high school. The author reveals the specifics of listening to music as a method of training director who is universal, to develop the possibilities of music. In the process of listening to music develops ear, rhythm, artistic and aesthetic taste, creative thinking, musical memory and professional competence of the director, who taught at the university does not always have a special musical education. According to the author, this process combines sensory musical sounds, harmony and beauty of harmonies, lively and vibrant art association responses to them. Thus comes the perception of music, forming a system of musical and aesthetic knowledge, experience, experience a piece of music, there is a value-art assessment of a piece of music. In this process, according to the author, the future director builds self-images, pictures and stories, simulates the musical context of the pageant. The article concludes that the effectiveness of listening to music should be targeted and combined with active and creative techniques.
