Modern realities of social development indicate the emergence of new determinants, one of which is the training of management personnel capable and ready to carry out high-quality project management. In the current situation, the priority direction of any organization operating in the field of physical culture and sports is to ensure the high quality of its activities, including in the service market through project management. Projects in the field of physical culture and sports have certain specifics and provide for coordinated interaction between project team members. To achieve this goal, it seems necessary to develop project management skills among managers of organizations operating in the field of physical culture and sports. The purpose of the article is a theoretical analysis of the problem of developing project management skills among managers of organizations operating in the field of physical culture and sports. Project management skills are considered as a set of actions aimed at performing the functions of a manager, expert, analyst, developer, manager-coordinator of federal, regional, municipal projects for the development of physical culture and sports, organizers of mega-sports and other events. Project management skills were described, and the stages of developing project management skills among managers of organizations operating in the field of physical culture and sports were also developed and filled with content.
