The article deals with some methods of formation and development of the cognitive interest to studying the foreign language of the students of the non-linguistic specialities of the university. These methods are based on the person-centered approach. There is considered the use of the directed complex of tasks and exercises as the principal method of the development of the cognitive interest to the foreign language of the students of the non-linguistic specialities of the university.
