Formation of Professional Identity of Future Psychologists in the Modern Digital Environment: Problems and Resources

The article presents the results of a pilot empirical study devoted to the study of the relationship between the low level of professional digital activity in the VK social network and the formation of professional identity among psychology students. The sample consisted of 54 2-4-year students from Pyatigorsk State University and Melitopol State University, selected according to the criterion of regular VK usage. A set of techniques aimed at studying professional orientation, self-attitude and identity, as well as the standardized interview method for assessing digital activity were used for diagnosis. The results revealed the predominance of passive consumer use of VK, which is not related to professional development. It was found that a low level of digital activity significantly correlates with high rates of internal conflict (33%) and professional passivity (37%), preventing the formation of a stable identity. It is concluded that in modern conditions, the digital environment, when used incorrectly, is primarily a risk factor. The necessity of purposeful inclusion of modules for the development of professional digital competencies in the educational process of the university in order to overcome the identified deficits is substantiated.
