Formation of professional competence of a Russian language teacher at a university

The article analyzes the main directions of the formation of the professional competence of a Russian language teacher in the higher education system. Methodological, linguistic, cultural, information and communication, research and innovation competencies are considered as key components of the professionalism of a modern teacher. Special attention is paid to the impact of digitalization of education, intercultural interaction and scientific activity on the quality of teaching. The article highlights the peculiarities of the formation of the professional competence of Russian language teachers in universities of the Kyrgyz Republic. The necessity of a systematic approach and the creation of conditions for sustainable professional growth of teachers is substantiated.
