Formation of professional competencies of students by means of project activities

In modern society, university graduates, especially in pedagogical areas, are required to possess various abilities: creative, communicative, project-based, the ability to self-study throughout their lives. The means of forming appropriate professional competencies is project activities. This article considers the ideology of the competence approach, implemented in the educational space of a pedagogical university with the help of project pedagogical technology, describes the essence of professional competencies of students of the pedagogical direction. The concepts of “project”, “project activities” are disclosed, the possibilities of the project activities in the formation of professional competencies of future teachers of various profiles are determined. Examples of the implementation of this pedagogical technology in classes in various disciplines and profiles are given. It is established that the use of the project activities in the development of various educational modules and disciplines by students contributes to increasing their motivation to study the subject, improving academic performance and forming professional competencies of future teachers.
