Gamification of education: the potential of games for the development of professional skills of specialists in the field of design

The article examines the process of gamification of the educational system, identifies the potential of using this phenomenon to train future designers. The necessity of a thorough study of a specific educational situation before introducing gaming practices into the educational process is emphasized. The features and prospects of using game techniques in teaching students are investigated. It is noted that in the light of modern requirements, a design specialist should be focused on the practical result of professional activity and the development of specific competencies. An attempt is made to identify game resources that contribute to the improvement of professional skills of the designer. The analysis of a number of electronic platforms has been carried out: shared resources for composing custom games (quizzes, quests, etc.) and highly specialized sites dedicated to the development of students' individual skills necessary for a specialist in the field of design. It is concluded that the use of gamification in the educational process is an actual and promising direction in the teacher's work with students in the design profile, however, it acts mainly as a function of increasing motivation and involving students in the educational process.
