Gender specifics of expression of contempt (in Russian fiction of the 20th century)

The article discusses the semantic and functional features of linguistic means of representation of negative emotions in the gender aspect on the material of a separate synchronic slice - 20th century. In the course of the study, we single out the emotion of contempt as one of the main emotions-stimuli of destructive communication; give the characteristics of this emotion in terms of the degree of intensity of its expression, its general and specific reasons in relation to male and female emotivity, differences in object orientation.
