Henry Fielding in early prose by S. Beckett: the question of attunements

The article deals with attunements between the early work of H. Fielding's "A Journey from this World to the Next» and the first novel S. Beckett's «More Pricks than Kicks». The common point of convergence of works is the plot of «pilgrimage in the other world», which goes back to the medieval genre of visio. Comparative analysis of the interpretation of the tradition of the visio will allow for a new light on questions about the artistic originality of the early prose H. Fielding, the formation the aesthetic position by S. Beckett, as well as help define the logic of relationships of Beckett's text with literary, philosophical and moral precedents.
