Verbs with the semantics of visual perception and their functional load in the travel essay genre

Statement of the problem. The verbs of visual perception in travel essays are considered in order to identify their text-forming and meaning-forming potential. The study of perceptual semantics, which has been rapidly developing in recent decades, allows us to identify the nature of the interaction between perceptual language units and their meanings. The purpose of the article is to define verbs with the semantics of subjective and objective visual perception, to identify their characteristics and functional load in travel essays. Methodology. The research methodology is based on the results of semantic analysis and descriptive method, in addition, classification and generalization methods are also used. Research results. The expression of rich content and the creation of expressiveness of the text in the travel essay are mostly realized with the help of perceptual language means. Verbs are often used to express feelings and convey the meanings contained in travel essays. Perceptual verbs in Russian include a large number of such verbs that are able to quite clearly express a visual sensation due to the implementation of their semantics. In travel essays, different visual scenes are clearly expressed by the verbs of subjective and objective visual perception. Conclusion. In the context of a travel essay, the verbs of visual perception perform the following functions: expressive, informative, artistic, and affecting.
