Global challenges of the time and the mission of humanitarian knowledge (some results of the XXIII International Likhachev Scientific Readings)

The article presents the characteristics of the global problems of the modern civilization and constructive scenarios for the future, which became the subject of discussion at the XXIII International Likhachev Scientific Readings “Transformations of the World: Problems and Prospects” (St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions, 22-23.05.2025). In the format of collective discussions, the conference participants discussed: the causes and consequences of the global challenges of the era; constructive geopolitical projects and ideological scenarios of civilizational development in the 21st century; factors of the anthropological crisis and regression of modern civilization; symptoms of exhaustion of the humanistic spirit of European culture; threats and prospects for preserving the spiritual integrity of the Russian world; the concept of actualization in the public consciousness of the basic spiritual and moral values of the Russian Civilization; the strategy for the rehabilitation of the ontological status of humanitarian knowledge.
