The problem of the readiness of college students enrolled in the specialty “Preschool education”, to work with children with disabilities, is considered. The results of studying the cognitive and emotional-motivational readiness of students to work with such children are presented and the need is substantiated for the development and implementation of the variative professional module “Organization of preventive and developmental activities in working with children with special educational needs” in educational practice, the content of which includes a theoretical course, training and industrial practice.
