"Speaking" proper names as an object of translation

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the possible ways of translation of «speaking» proper names from English into Russian in the famous novels written in the genre of fantasy. Depending on their specificity they may be translated as the unity of form and contents due to the fact that they coincide in the SL and TL and produce the same effect. This correlation may very often be not identical in two languages and this may force a translator to use transcription and transliteration which inevitably causes the loss of the unique unity of these ingredients of the original text.
