Literature world of “Sketches from a hunter’s album” and Slovakian literature by I.S. Turgenev

The centre of attention of the author hereof is a collection of short stories “Sketches from a Hunter’s Album” by I.S. Turgenev. Publishing of this collection book became the greatest event both in the literature’s and the society’s life at that time. A close look both at the attitude of the Slovakian literature to the Russian classical literature and the translations of the Turgenev’s works into Slovakian is taken herein.
