Education ideal in the Russian pedagogical science: the discussion of the supporters of sociocentrism and anthropocentrism at the turn of the XIX -XXth century

The article deals with the analysis of the basic approaches to the concept “education ideal” through the prism of the discussion of the two pedagogic movements of the turn of the XIX - XXth century - sociocentrism and anthropocentrism. The published works of the teachers are considered in the context of the sociocultural development of Russia, the transformation processes, that took place in the Romanov empire during the reign of the two last autocrats - Alexander III and Nikolay II.
