An image of touristic Russia: problems and possible solutions

The study focuses on a modern touristic image of Russia abroad, especially in France. Unfortunately, in recent times a lot of Frenchmen have a negative image of Russia, and this fact prevents a wave of French tourists coming to Russia from growing. Western countries have not the best image of Russia, because nowadays due to various facts the world is facing a lack of adequate information about our country. They reflect a wrong representation of real events and processes happening in our country. Instead of real Russia, an ordinary man from France or other European country often receives an image that has almost nothing to do with Russia and its actual problems. This article examines possible solutions, which could contribute to a positive image of Russia and generate positive feelings towards Russian citizens. A rich cultural heritage and natural diversity visibly position Russia among countries with a potential growth of tourism.
