The article deals with the final phase of the Imperial Russian Musical Society, which coincided with the beginning of the First World War. By that time, IRMO included more than 50 branches, according to its statute, the decisive two main objectives - awareness and education. Despite all the hardships, coupled with war, IRMO continued its activities, arranging charity concerts, which came with a collection for the benefit of the front, and a respite from military service contributed to the fact that for admission to educational institutions significantly increased flow of males. However, many teachers-musicians recruited into the ranks of the Russian army. IRMO ceased to exist with the end of the war to the Russian Empire, ie with the October Revolution.
