Individual variability of Malus baccata (L.) Borkh. in Selenginskoe srednegor’e

The intrapopulation variability of 12 qualitative and 12 quantitative characters of Malus baccata (L.) Borkh., growing in the territory of the Ivolgian district was studied. Two taxonomically significant characters were clarified. A metric characteristic of 12 quantitative characters was given. Leave length, petiole length, number of flowers in an inflorescence and fruit altitude are most stable characters. Content of vitamin С in fruits is defined.
