Information and management activities of academic staff as imperative for education 4.0

The article substantiates the need to enhance information and management activities of the faculty in Education 4.0. A contradiction between the need for teachers who are able to carry out such activities and insufficient attention to this issue in pedagogical theory and practice is revealed. The purpose of the article is to define the information and management activities of academic staff and state the requirements for information and management competencies of the faculty in Education 4.0. The concepts of Industry 4.0, Education 4.0, management theory, and analytical and synthetic methods were used. The author substantiated the requirements for the information and management competencies of the academic staff in Education 4.0. They are functional management skills, behavioral skills, and the ability to maintain a sufficient level of situational awareness of the student's functional environment. The author identified the essence of the information and management activities of the faculty that should manage the situational development of the student's personality in accordance with the identified development trends, student’s aspirations and goals, and dynamically changing information situations. The results of the research can be used in the educational process of tertiary education.
