This article examines the specific features of communication initiation and communicative sensitivity in preschool children with general speech underdevelopment (GSU) and mental retardation (MR). The aim of this study is to evaluate the level of communicative initiative and sensitivity in children with GSU and MR, as well as to analyze their correlation with the emotional sphere. Within the framework of the work the following tasks are set. The theoretical block involves an analysis of modern approaches to the study of communicative initiative and sensitivity in children, taking into account their cognitive, emotional development, and behavioral aspects. The practical block will analyze the relationships between sensitivity and initiative, peculiarities of communicative initiation, and a comparison of communicative initiative and sensitivity in children by nosological groups and features of emotional state.
