The article studies the theoretical assumptions and methodological positions on innovative activity in educational organizations, systematizes social prerequisites for the development of innovative activity at schools, changes in the specific features of innovative directions. The problems that teachers are to solve in the innovation process have been analyzed. The study emphasizes the directions and basic mechanisms for launching and implementing innovative activities in the educational organization.
