The article deals with the use of the innovative technologies in the process of the foreign language teaching of the architect students. There are described some computer technologies, there are pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of their usage. The authors draw attention to the aspects of the speech activity, involved in the implementation of the competency-based approach.
